Counselling

What is Counselling?

Counselling is an opportunity to identify your problems and explore your worries, thoughts, feelings and behaviour patterns in a confidential and non-judgemental environment.

Counselling allows you the opportunity to explore:

  • How you respond emotionally to your difficulties
  • The consequences of your responses upon your everyday life
  • Any patterns or themes within your everyday life that highlight your difficulties
  • How your life can be what you want it to be

Helping you find ways to change and discovering how to start living the life you want.

The model of counselling I work with is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which is a type of therapy which focuses on how your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings and behaviour, and helps you to find skills to cope with lifes challenges.

It can be short or long term therapy depending on your needs and is used for a whole spectrum of issues including:

  • Abuse, emotional, physical and sexual
  • Anger issues
  • Anxiety and panic attacks
  • Bereavement
  • Bullying and confidence issues
  • Depression
  • PTSD
  • Self-esteem and feelings of worthlessnes
  • Sexual Identity (LGBTQ)
